To date, 4 different women have competed in the men's Royal Rumble match. These names are a who's who of top female performers of the last 20 years, so it was inevitable that once a women's exclusive version of the event was announced, a man would enter to shake things up.

But unlike the aforementioned ladies, the inclusion of a man in the women's match was not meant as a symbol of empowerment but rather a little comic relief to give casual fans something to talk about after the final bell rang.

So which male wrestler made history? Well, technically former Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella did the honours, but it was while dressed as his own kayfabe twin-sister Santina, the winner of the WrestleMania XXV 'Miss WrestleMania' battle royal.

Fortunately this was a way more tasteful segment than we would usually expect from WWE, and as long as they don't overuse it, it makes for a fun and unique Royal Rumble spot for fans to look out for each year.
