Rightly or wrongly, WWE has steered away from any kind of intergender wrestling through the years, but the one time officials seem much more relaxed about this unwritten rule is during the Royal Rumble match.

Women wrestling men is much more commonplace on the indies, and there is definitely an audience for it, but as a publicly trading company, we can only assume WWE’s investors don’t feel the same way as the fans who attend these shows.

In 1999, Chyna became the exception to the rule, but as an official member of the men’s division her involvement is perhaps less memorable than say when Randy Orton dropped Nia Jax with an RKO in 2019, or when CM Punk smashed Beth Phoenix with a rather stiff looking knee to the face in 2010.

As the build to the 2021 event grows, WWE has actually showcased Sasha Banks in an intergender match on Smackdown Live!, although this was more of a comedy angle, and just this week Randy Orton attacked Alexa Bliss, which perhaps foreshadows even more intergender madness to come.
