10 Interesting WWE Facts About Brock Lesnar In Madison Square Garden

9. A Bevy Of Opponents

Brock Lesnar squeezed quite a few Madison Square Garden appearances into his short two-year run with WWF/E 12 years ago. It only makes sense that the company€™s €œhome€ arena would play host to one of its rising stars as often as possible. In 10 matches at MSG from 2002-04, Lesnar had nine singles matches €“ against nine different opponents. The only multi-man match was a six-man tag in which four of the other participants were people he previously had faced in singles bouts (Big Show, Kurt Angle, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas). The other wrestler? Mr. America, better known as Hulk Hogan. If you think you know the lineup in that bout, you€™re probably wrong. Lesnar teamed with Mr. America and Angle to oppose Haas, Benjamin and Big Show, who won the match. This also would turn out to be Hogan€™s last match in WWE for two years, with Mr. McMahon €œfiring€ Mr. America after he unmasked off-camera. When Lesnar faces Show on Saturday, it€™ll be the first €œreturn€ bout at MSG for Brock, facing someone he€™s faced in singles competition there before.
