10 Jake 'The Snake' Roberts Promos You Must Watch

4. 'Take What You Want And Leave The Rest'

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myC8pbi7stw In 1991, Jake Roberts turned heel and embarked on a legendary feud with Randy Savage. This era is known as the 'Trust Me' era, the latest development in Roberts' character that saw him turn to the dark side once more. This promo was directed at Sid Justice, but Macho Man was the real target. Jake makes a fantastic point in this promo. He claims that many think he has a new attitude, but he knows better. The attitude and character of Jake 'The Snake' Roberts didn't change a huge amount in truth. The only difference was the alignment of those he set his sights on. He was still the snake, he never asked for the acceptance of the fans and never bowed down to them. Heel Jake and Face Jake were essentially the same Jake, a difficult thing to achieve in professional wrestling.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
