10 Jeff Hardy WWE Matches That Must Happen

3. Shinsuke Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura may well have spent far too long in a developmental system he was always too good for, but his relatively late call-up does mean that he has an entirely blank slate when it comes to fresh matches. Outside of his former NXT and New Japan colleagues (Bálor, Zayn, Joe, Styles, Anderson), everything ahead of Nakamura is as fresh as it gets.

Eight years away from the company means the same is mostly true for Jeff Hardy. It will come as no surprise to learn that Shinsuke Nakamura and Jeff Hardy have never met inside the squared circle. The two men must meet now that they are both performing under the WWE umbrella.

Hardy and Nakamura have more similarities than may immediately meet the eye. Both were outrageously popular superstars who won the top championships in their promotions without ever being given the ball fully. Nakamura is well-positioned now to break out as SmackDown Live's number one babyface - could this lead to some resentment from Jeff Hardy, whose time as a major singles star has surely passed?

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
