Okay, okay, the elephant in the room. There is every reason to believe that John Cena vs. Roman Reigns could well have been a marquee match for the company at SummerSlam 2016, but it didn't happen for a variety of reasons. The chosen one of the past against the chosen one of the present, the story writes itself.

It may be off the table for now, but if you think John Cena vs. Roman Reigns isn't a future inevitability then you clearly haven't been watching WWE for long enough. This is the Cena vs. Batista of the modern age, two titans of what WWE wants us to think is true sports entertainment.

Both men have pedigree when it comes to big matches too, and more often than not their working boots are located at just the right time. Whether they would be able to do this against each other remains to be seen of course, but what price a Reigns/Cena battle at WrestleMania 33?

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
