10 John Cena Matches You Should Watch Again

1. Vs The Great Khali - ECW One Night Stand 2007

One of the greatest carry-jobs in company history, the two had a remarkably enjoyable Falls Count Anywhere match at the June gimmick Pay-Per-View which Cena rightfully earned huge plaudits.

At only ten minutes long, it was of course structured to protect Khali's numerous shortcomings, but in Heyman-esque fashion it managed just that, and Cena can take credit for the 'Punjabi Playboy's' best ever WWE match.

Structured around 'The Champ' withstanding his opponent's punishing blows (which, internet mockery aside, had comfortably despatched The Undertaker in storyline terms one year previous) and score a pin on Khali for the first time in his WWE tenure, Cena sold fantastically, taking a beating all over the arena and, unusually for the time, bringing the crowd to his corner for the duration of the contest.

Finishing him off with a high-level FU from a crane in the staging area, Cena pinned Khali amongst the rubble of his fall, completing his satisfying giant-slaying mission.

After a murky submission victory in a dire squabble the previous month, the rematch was a creative success, and a genuinely thrilling payoff to their otherwise laboured and dated storyline.
