10 Lamest WWE WrestleMania Main Eventers

Plenty of undeserving names have show closed WrestleMania.

Main eventing WrestleMania is the greatest honour in the wrestling industry. Whether it is to do a job or win a championship, it is an absolute privilege for any wrestler to go on last at Mania and close the show. It is also the best paying gig in the company, with the main event traditionally responsible for drawing the biggest show of the year. For wrestlers like CM Punk, it was his dream to go on last at Mania, and the cause for a lot of his resentment towards WWE. There's a sense in the locker room that show closing the event is a far bigger achievement than anything else in the industry. It means more than any championship. It is a career legacy. But despite the revered position, plenty of average to poor superstars have earned the gig. Some of the names on this list not only main evented at Mania, but won in the show closing position. However, the trend on this list is mostly losers, which suggests even WWE knew their choices were a little on the lame side. In some cases, WWE just wanted to feed wrestlers to the big stars. But this is never a good way of booking. Wins don't mean much if they are against duds. Yet WWE throughout WrestleMania's history booked the following lame main eventers.
