8. Dean Ambrose Wins The Main Event
After the TLC Pay-Per-View, it looked like WWE had finally solved their Roman Reigns problem - Reigns was the company's champion, and finally, the fans were accepting him. Unfortunately, for the second year in a row, the road to WrestleMania has heightened anti-Reigns sentiment. While Raw crowds have typically responded to WWE's top babyface well, he was booed harshly at the Royal Rumble, and fans were happy when Triple H eliminated him from the match. He likely won't get a warm reception at Fastlane, which spells trouble for WrestleMania. Could WWE sidestep the issue of the "wrong" response to WrestleMania's main event by having Dean Ambrose challenge Triple H? Ambrose and "The Game" were the last two men in the Royal Rumble match, and "The Lunatic Fringe" is consistently beloved by the WWE Universe. Ambrose even dropped his Intercontinental Title, a sign that grander things could be in store. To put it simply, don't count on it. WWE has had many chances to make a main event player out of Dean Ambrose (most recently, a heel turn and title win at Survivor Series would have been far more entertaining than the scenario they actually booked), and they just haven't gone through with it. While Ambrose may get a serious run on top at some point, it won't be now, and it won't be at Roman Reigns's expense. WWE has invested too much in the Shield's former enforcer.
