Replaced: Lana

It's the surprise that had to happen.

WWE couldn't afford another Bryan-esque no show in the Rumble from their hottest star, as the fans simply wouldn't take it again.

Despite a loss earlier in the night to Asuka for the SmackDown Women's Championship, Becky Lynch would pull double duty for her shot at glory.

Lana would be the one to appear at #28 for the women's Royal Rumble later that night, but a hip injury sustained in a pre-show match and a beatdown from a pi**ed off Nia Jax left her hobbling down the ramp towards the ring. Until Lynch's music hit.

Storming towards her injured colleague, Lynch yelled at the producers and agents who had come out to aid 'The Ravishing Russian' demanding she enter the match.

After what felt like an eternity of live-crowd baiting, Fit Finlay gave her the go-ahead and Lynch was in. Lana out.

She'd go on to win, booking her place in the WrestleMania main event and becoming 'Becky Two Belts' in the process, a history-making moment born from a late replacement.
