10 Leading Contenders To Win 2021 WWE Money In The Bank Ladder Matches
3. Cesaro
If reports are to be believed, Cesaro is set to be the next in line to challenge for Roman Reigns' Universal Championship. This is likely going down at WrestleMania Backlash on 16 May, a month before Money in the Bank.
'The Swiss Superman is obviously going to lose the bout, should he be placed in it at all, but a Money in the Bank spot seems all but confirmed at this stage. He's one of those wrestlers well suited to such a match, with his 2016 ladder-assisted springboard European uppercut acting as a fine piece of evidence. It was executed blissfully; your writer is still in awe.
That he's even involved in a story arc with Roman, especially on the post-WrestleMania season, is reason enough for his inclusion, unless WWE have him involved in the title picture come the June pay-per-view.
The audience are clearly still invested in the Swiss native, despite WWE's failure to use him correctly ever. WrestleMania 37's paying audience applauded Cesaro's 'Mania victory over Seth Rollins as if he'd won the jackpot on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. People still care.
WWE appear to be going fully in with this Cesaro push, so they have to go this extra step with him. It can't just end following his inevitable loss to Reigns.
