He went from Yang in the WCW's Jung Dragons to WWF's Heartland Wrestling Association developmental territory to All Japan Pro Wrestling to a Flying Elvis in TNA to Akio in WWE to independents to Jimmy Wang Yang in WWE back to the independents - all before he turned thirty. It was during his 2003 stint that Akio emerged on WWE television alongside Ryan Sakoda as "Kyo Dai" - ostensibly henchman for Tajiri. While the gimmick had some strong "Yakuza" (Japanese Organized Crime) overtones, reportedly Tajiri put the kibosh on the angle fearing issues back in his native Japan. Akio & Sakoda's made their debut as "fans" who distracted Rey Mysterio and helped Tajiri retain the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. However, their tag record was not as successful. Instead, the trio (Tajiri/Sakoda/Akio) were 2-9 in their various combinations with losses to teams including Billy Gunn & Hardcore Holly, Orlando Jordan & Shannon Moore, the Dudley Boyz, Johnny Stamboli & Nunzio and Charlie Haas & Rico. Akio & Sakoda did managed to defeat Jamie Noble & Rey Mysterio on Smackdown in November 2003 but success, particularly after March 2003 was fleeting. The team disbanded in June 2004 after Tajiri moved to Raw and Sakoda was released.
