10 Legendary WWE Superstars With Forgettable WrestleMania Careers

4. Mr. Perfect

Mr. Perfect's career in the World Wrestling Federation was so good that many fans consider the real-life Curt Hennig to be the greatest wrestler to have never held the WWE Championship. There were tentative plans (in 1990) to position Perfect as the top heel so he would at least be seen as having a shot at the title, but Ultimate Warrior vs. Hulk Hogan headlined WrestleMania VI instead. Perfect then suffered his first televised loss after a forgettable match with Brutus Beefcake at the first Toronto-held WrestleMania. Equally forgettable was Hennig's WrestleMania VII match against the Big Boss Man. Despite receiving heavy promotion for this Intercontinental Championship match, the bout did not deliver between the ropes and also had a screwed-up finish. Two years later, Perfect returned to the ring for WrestleMania IX but forgot the entire match that he planned to call and the result showed during his bout with Lex Luger as it contained little psychology and the two men looked lost at times. Mr. Perfect's greatest WrestleMania moment may have come against a masked Owen Hart, wrestling as the Blue Blazer, at WrestleMania V but that isn't saying much. The match was fine, but if that's the high WrestleMania watermark for an otherwise remarkable WWE career, it can only be classified as underachieving.
