10 Lessons WWE Should Have Learned Over WrestleMania 35 Weekend

5. Becky Lynch Might Be The Most Over Woman In History

Attitude Era romantics will be quick to throw the words "Trish" and "Lita" at me here and, yes, only time will tell if Becky Lynch ends up as fondly remembered as them, but in the here and now WWE have something extraordinary on their hands.

In much the same way that Bryan and Kofi both managed to defy their lowly booking within the company and use the favour of the fans to force WWE to take them seriously, 2018 closed out with Lynch boasting the biggest story, the biggest angle, and her status as the biggest star. The company's scattergun approach to her journey this year (the knee injury, the loss to Asuka, the addition of the SmackDown Women's championship) has seen that sag somewhat, but her popularity remains.

Every other t-shirt at WrestleMania weekend was a Becky Lynch t-shirt. From the few official steampunk monstrosities WWE cobbled together, to The Man, to the many, many brilliant fan creations that have sprung up over the last few months (mine's the best, obviously, it was designed by legit-genius Lauren Moran and you should buy her prints) they were absolutely everywhere.

Raw, SmackDown and Mania were all adorned with signs for her, and her appearance the night after her title win drew a marginally bigger pop that Kofi and Seth. Yes the finish will distort what was an otherwise era-defining moment, but regardless, the era has been defined. It's up to WWE now to not bury that positivity.
