10 Life-Saving Wrestling Moments
7. Seth Rollins Saves Himself
If only Seth Rollins possessed a similar ability to sense imminent damage to his reputation.
One suspects Rollins has spent too long in the WWE bubble, and since WWE has always positioned him strongly throughout his run, he is very quick to defend the machine, whether he's justified in his defence or otherwise. Beyond the whole "WWE is the best pro wrestling on the planet, because our high-flier just won a meaningless midcard title" debacle, Rollins has continued to take aim at the fans. They're too impatient to understand long-term storytelling, he says.
A sh*t idea curled out for a long time will make a splash, but seeing if a man will lose an eyeball isn't necessarily something you'd want fans to talk about.
Rollins fared much better in 2014, as a super-worker of a heel who was really getting over as an obnoxious pissant, but a terrifying incident might have altered his ascent were it not for a sixth sense moment. Feigning to get amongst the action and interfere in a cage match at the expense of Roman Reigns, Rollins must have felt the spike that connects the structure to the ring.
He couldn't see it and only noticed, at the last moment, how close he was to being impaled by it.
