10 Live Observations From Attending WWE NXT At Madison Square Garden
6. Tye Dillinger Is Wasting His Time In NXT
When Sanity attacked TM61 after their victory, it was Tye Dillinger who ran out to make the save. That set up a bout between Dillinger and Eric Young, and from there, the show got back on track.
Just like at every other NXT show, Dillinger was incredibly popular. He was also a breath of fresh air on what had been, at that point, a pretty bad show. All of that begs the question, though - why is he still in NXT?
Dillinger may not be the best worker still on the developmental brand (that honor belongs to Shinsuke Nakamura, Samoa Joe, or Asuka), but he's quite good. More importantly, though, he's been in WWE for almost a decade and hasn't gotten a break. He first joined the company in 2006 and (after a Raw appearance as "Stan") reported to OVW. He spent a year there, moved to FCW for a year, then was called up to the ECW brand as Gavin Spears, but was released after five months.
In 2013, he joined NXT as Tye Dillinger and since then, he's been clawing his way up the brand's card, earning a true following. He's now 35 and gets some of the best reactions of anyone in WWE - so when is enough enough?
