7. New Day Somehow Still Rocks

Perhaps I just needed to hear it live to really believe it, but fans still love their New Day. Over the past few years, people have turned against some acts they used to love like Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, but Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Big E still get the crowd going.

All they have to do is cut a promo that leads to the same basic lines they deliver every week “Who? Who? Who?” and “Your Double-u, Double-u, E, World Tag Team Champions!” and the crowd just eats it up. I’m not saying they should break them up or anything, as thousands of people in attendance loved joining in on their antics, they’re just not for me anymore. I thought maybe a few others felt the same way.

I remember when I first saw them live a couple years ago, it was before they turned heel and their entire act was based on the power of positivity. They were the blandest babyfaces around. I booed them, and someone threw something at me (to this day I don’t know what it was...candy?). Last night I kept my mouth shut.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
