10 Live Observations From WWE Raw Live From Detroit
8. Draft Strategies
Lots of promotions for the upcoming draft next Tuesday. Not sure how many made the air.
It's intriguing enough to get me to watch. They've done this before, but I felt it went stale fast, and may have hurt Smackdown-brand talent. It's going to be interesting to see how they not only run two shows, but also how they promote two brands well enough not to mark one as the second tier. Always thought an NXT hour before Raw was the way to go.
How they play this will be important. Also, consider this: ratings dropping, superstars dwindling, not enough upcoming talent to replace them with, etc. Now they have CWC, NXT, Smackdown and Raw brands (essentially). Is it wise to have so many different promotions under one umbrella? I don't know. This is a big risk on WWE's part
They are asking for a lot of our time as consumers, and I'm not sure they've thought this through. We'll see.
