10 Longest Gaps Between WWE Title Defences

2. 147 Days - Gregory Helms (Cruiserweight)

Shane Helms Cruiserweight Champion

You may have read in the previous entry about Gregory Helms' one-year reign as WWE Cruiserweight Champion, which sounds like an impressive achievement. It was in many ways, as Helms took a belt that had lost a lot of credibility and gave it a bit of legitimacy. The former superhero was even booked to look somewhat strong against members of the heavyweight division.

Helms did a lot for the title, but for almost five months he actually did nothing with it. Helms had been champion for almost five months when he faced Super Crazy on an episode of SmackDown, the two going to a no contest. The belt went into stasis for just shy of five months after this.

Helms' next defence came 147 days later towards the end of November 2006, when Jimmy Wang Yang failed to secure the championship that evaded him for his entire career.
