10 Longest Matches In WWE History

8. Bruno Sammartino (C) Vs Nikolai Volkoff - WWE Title - WWWF MSG Show Mar 4th 1974 (53 Minutes)

Bruno Sammartino is one of the WWE's biggest legends. He first won the WWE title back in 1963, going on to hold the belt until 1971. That long reign established him as the foundation that the North Eastern region WWWF was built upon, which in turn gave birth to the national WWF. He won the belt again in December 1973 and one of his first feuds was with the hated Russian heel Nikolai Volkoff. On the occasion of March 4th 1974, at Madison Square Garden, the pair wrestled to a fifty-three minute draw. The building curfew had been reached, thus necessitating the end of the match.
