10 Longest Reigning ECW World Heavyweight Champions
4. Christian - 205 Days
Captain Charisma had two runs with the reintroduced ECW World Championship, and his second could arguably be considered the last legitimate reign in its history. Ezekial Jackson (remember him?) may have defeated Christian for the title to become the last champion, but three minutes later the belt was gone for good. After a stint in TNA Christian returned to WWE in 2009 and was assigned to the ECW brand, immediately coming up as the main challenger to Jack Swagger's title. After coming up short on a couple of occasions, the Instant Classic finally picked up the strap at Backlash 2009. This run was shortlived though, as Tommy Dreamer returned to pick up a feel-good run with the title. Christian wouldn't be denied however, and seven weeks later he regained his title. He defended the title against a mixture of veterans like William Regal and Shelton Benjamin and new stars such as Evan Bourne and Yoshi Tatsu, until the gigantic Ezekial Jackson entered the picture at the beginning of 2010. It wasn't until the last episode of ECW TV that Big Zeke would pick up the strap though, ending Christian's run at 205 days, the longest in WWECW history.
Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
