Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio are two of the most famous opponents in Western wrestling's history. From their industry defining classic at Halloween Havoc 1997, to their infamous chaotic ladder match for the custody of Dominik Mysterio at SummerSlam 2005, they got to bring the best out of each other as personalities and as workers.

While the majority of their 2005 stretch of matches is sometimes overshadowed by the ludicrousness of the storyline, their work together was as sensational as always, showcasing Eddie's further developments as a worker since becoming WWE Champion and allowing Rey to finally put the pieces together to make him a main event talent. Their most underrated match together was at The Great American Bash 2005, where they completely stole the show.

This aspect of the rivalry revolved around a secret that Eddie Guerrero held about Rey Mysterio's family, a secret that he'd share with the live crowd if he managed to beat Rey here. While he'd go onto reveal the secret regardless, it provided that necessary spark to improve on their match from WrestleMania 21, with Rey delivering one of his most committed babyface performances ever. A truly great contest.
