10 Lucha Underground Stars Who Could Shake Up WWE

1. The Mack

Out of everyone in Lucha Underground right now, perhaps Willie Mack has the most potential inside of WWE. He has a lot of things that Vince McMahon looks for: an entertaining, over the top personality, great facial expressions, in-ring intensity, and tons of charisma. At one point, Mack was WWE bound, until a physical didn’t quite go his way.

Since then, he’s been introduced to a national audience through Lucha Underground, and he’s absolutely shined in the role. It’s no secret that WWE has has a troubling, and sad history of pushing black wrestlers in their company. Overlooking many offensive things in the past, just look at the current male roster and it's still pretty sad how they're portrayed. Titus O’Neill is only used to put others over, Darren Young is a joke, R-Truth is a really bad joke, D-Von Dudley is well past his prime, Mark Henry randomly turned into a jobber before disappearing, Apollo Crews is still gaining his footing, and while New Day is over, they're relegated to comedy status. Mack could come in and be near the top of the card right away. The man is that good.

Mack has a Bray Wyatt type size to him, and just like The Eater of Worlds, he can move a lot more quickly in the ring than his appearance lets on. He has that intangible “it factor” as The Believers instantly latched onto him (though it probably doesn’t hurt that he has PWG experience in the Los Angeles area). At 29-years-old, hopefully Mack can have another chance in WWE. With the right push, he could be one of their best babyfaces in the company for years to come.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
