10 Main Event Wrestling Gimmicks That NOBODY Liked

3. Constable Corbin

To get some niceties out of the way, down on his luck Corbin was actually really good...

...by latter day Vince standards.

Corbin committed to the bit by living the gimmick and broadcasting it on social media. The utter despondency of his digital exclusive promos was amusing and cathartic and informed the d*ckhead that was Happy Corbin, who was, in theory, far more detestable having not learned a single lesson. A sort of anti-Scrooge.

If all this was nothing more than evidence that Corbin was probably a really good performer when not scripted to death, naturally, he was abysmal when Vince McMahon paid the most attention to him in the first half of 2019 - which followed, of course, Corbin being blamed onscreen for sh*tty ratings in December 2018 (!).

His post-WrestleMania run with Seth Rollins was horrendously boring. Droning promos, relentless heat angles, it was all very oppressive WWE fare that worked to a lesser extent than usual because Rollins, clearly hating being paired with his real-life partner, was so difficult to invest in.

Stomping Grounds played host to a sub-TV-sized crowd that WWE had the ignominy of tarping off.
