WWE's pay-per-view calendar for 2015 is now at an end. That means that the next time the WWE Network plays host to a major showcase event will be January's Royal Rumble, which is perhaps the most prestigious non-WrestleMania show of the year. The Rumble, particularly its central battle royal, is always one of the most unpredictable and entertaining events that WWE puts on and it serves a vital purpose in firing the starting pistol on the Road to WrestleMania. This year, the show is even less predictable than usual. In previous Rumbles, both Batista and Roman Reigns seemed groomed for victory before they even entered the match and the Daniel Bryan issue hung over the entire contest. There's no clear favourite for this year's Royal Rumble, with at least half a dozen guys equally likely to emerge victorious from the match. WWE has six weeks to build a series of compelling storylines going into the Royal Rumble and all of the ingredients are there to produce a compelling show. With an enormous stadium in Texas to fill for WrestleMania in April, the product has to hit the next level as soon as possible.
