9. WWE Told Kane To Put Punk Through A Table (Despite Possible Concussion)

Now this is an interesting one, given the current situation surrounding WWE and brain injuries but it is almost definite that, during the 2014 Rumble, the boys back in Gorilla ordered Kane to get out there, eliminate Punk and put him through a table despite the message having come back to them that Punk had a potential concussion.

So the timeline on this is very Kennedy the movie but I’ll try and piece it together from what we’ve been told.

Kofi Kingston clotheslines Punk, giving him what Punk believes to be, and I quote, “a f***ing concussion”. He relays this to referee Mike Cone who promptly tells Punk to stay down, Punk says no, wants to carry on with the match and, eventually the order is given to have Kane eliminate him.

Now this was all part of the plan apparently. But the implication is that the boys in gorilla - namely Michael Hayes, Triple H and, of all people, Billy Kidman - had been given the information about the concussion but still allowed Kane to proceed with the planned table spot.

This doesn’t really have any bearing in this particular case but I’d expect it to come up again the next time the head injury issue is raised in WWE.
