10 Major UFC Signings That Failed Miserably

7. Hector Lombard

There are a few former Bellator champions on this list who truly failed to make the grade, but we'll start off with Hector Lombard. Fight fans who were watching the sport in the late 2000s will know that the former Olympic judoka from Cuba was an absolutely terrifying figure.

During his epic 25-fight undefeated run between 2007 to 2011, there was only one middleweight that was scarier than him and that was Anderson Silva. Some of the punching power he showed during his Bellator bouts and for other bouts on the regional circuit was sensational. However, when he eventually came over to the UFC in 2012, his welcome party was spoiled by Tim Boetsch, who won a split decision against him.

While he managed to earn victories against Rousimar Palhares, Nate Marquardt and Jake Shields. he suffered far more losses inside the Octagon than he did wins. In fact, between 2016 and 2018, he fought for the UFC six times, lost all six bouts and was violently knocked out in three of them.
