10 Major WWE Matches That Changed At The Last Second
9. Team WWE vs. The Nexus SummerSlam 2010
When a fierce stable of up-and-coming youngsters threatened to tear the fabric of WWE apart, the company's most trusted veterans had to come together babyface and heel alike to handle the threat. Handpicked by John Cena to combat the threat stood a Magnificent Seven comprised of Cena himself, Chris Jericho, Edge, R-Truth, John Morrison, The Great Khali, and Bret Hart. On the final Raw before SummerSlam, though, The Nexus scored the opening salvo in the war, attacking The Great Khali and forcing him to withdraw from the match. The Miz teased that he might help fill in for Khali, but vowed to keep his decision a secret until SummerSlam. When SummerSlam came, The Miz answered the question nobody had asked, revealing he would, in fact, take the place of The Great Khali however, his help wasn't needed. When the six remaining members of Team WWE came out to start the bout, Cena introduced their seventh Daniel Bryan, who had originally been a part of The Nexus before being fired from the company. A surprising return, a seal of approval from Cena, and a strong position in SummerSlam's main event instantly made Bryan a star, and nobody was complaining about Khali's or Miz's absence.
