10 Major WWE Rumors That Never Came To Pass
2. A Game The Whole Family Can Enjoy
Vince McMahon may be the powerful man in wrestling, but he's also one hell of a creepy dude. For proof, look no further that the fact that he always wanted to run an incest storyline. Mercifully, it just never worked out for the chairman.
First, there was Ken Shamrock and his sister, Ryan. Ken turned into a jealous, overprotective brother when Ryan started dating Val Venis, but Vince actually wanted to run a storyline where Ryan and Ken became romantically involved. The two superstars - who in real life were not related and were romantically involved - both refused to take part in the angle, and it didn't move forward.
A decade later, Paul Burchill was paired up with European star Katarina Waters, who was introduced as his sister, Katie Lea. It was clear from the subtext that their relationship was a little too close, with Paul living by the motto "What Katie Lea wants, Katie Lea gets." The other shoe was about to drop, but before it could, WWE switched to a TV-PG product. After that, the Burchills were just a regular pair of close siblings.
The most egregious example, though, would have to be the one involving McMahon's own family. As detailed on the McMahon DVD released in 2006, when Stephanie was pregnant with her first child, Vince pitched her an angle where he would be revealed as the father of the baby. Stephanie said no. He then pitched her and Shane McMahon his backup plan - a storyline where Shane was the father. Both of his children refused, and Vince was undoubtedly a disappointed dad.
