10 Matches For The Ultimate NJPW Vs. AEW Supercard

9. Orange Cassidy Vs. Minoru Suzuki

Okada Omega
NJPW/AEW

Orange Cassidy wrestles best when the irony thing is a psychological flex—or something he has to drop immediately because he’s getting the sh*t kicked out of him—and Minoru Suzuki would absolutely kick the irony out of him, bastard.

An undercard attraction that doesn’t overwork a special attraction character, it would be magic, were the camera to pan to Cassidy as he halfheartedly mumbles along to ‘Kaze Ni Nare’ with the crowd roaring it in the background.

Suzuki’s incredible face would sell Cassidy’s apathy brilliantly. A deranged picture of delighted fury, when Cassidy lightly grazes those legs with his hands in his pocket, you would be able to see harrowing visions of pain sparking in the hard old f*cker’s psychotic eyes. He’d knock those sunglasses off with his fierce open hand slaps, but Suzuki isn’t above comedy—he just has a wicked sense of humour—and so he’d forcibly remove those hands from his pockets and stamp all over them. Cassidy is a sly mat demon, which would just piss Suzuki off all the more, resulting in an improbably competitive but hugely entertaining 10-minute match.

Extra 1/2* if Suzuki nails that dropkick when Cassidy does his intentionally slow rope-run.
