10 Matches For The Ultimate NJPW Vs. AEW Supercard

5. PAC Vs. Will Ospreay

Promoted by RevPro earlier this year, the expected incredible match suffered somewhat from the inconclusive result and the creeping feeling that it was coming right at the onset of what would have been an intoxicating final stretch.

Now that PAC has dropped the Open The Dream Gate Title, this sequel—co-promoted by two companies who fail to see the value in worthless, bullsh*t finishes—effectively guarantees a decisive result and the attendant, molten heat.

The dynamic is so great because each performer is a mirror to the other; both are superhuman, modern athletes who have no right maintaining their old velocity in the wake of their outrageously shredded physiques. As an exhibition of state-of-the-art wrestling, this would send fans into This-is-awesome euphoria, but there’s potential also for a rich story to unfold: Ospreay is quicker, almost as powerful, that bit more spectacular. But PAC is a BASTARD, and he’d tap into his sinister side when over-awed as the match reaches that inexorable surge down the stretch.

A modern masterpiece underpinned with a traditional structure, this isn’t merely a meeting of two super-workers: it’s a universal classic in waiting.
