Are these multi-person matches even allowed to happen right now? Can this many people be in such close confines? The answer is probably ‘no’, but what is a Money in the Bank pay-per-view without a couple of ladder matches? The concept is tired and in desperate need of a revamp, but the current tumult is not the time to do it.

A reduced number of competitors is likely, but the names filling the spots practically name themselves. Nia Jax has recently returned from injury and will likely be protected over the coming months, with inevitable championship opportunities around the corner. The same goes for Bianca Belair, and the new NXT call-up will provide the athleticism and creativity that such matches demand.

Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville will go at it over the summer, and putting both in the ladder match allows them to do battle without throwing away a big singles match (yes, ‘big’ is correct). Liv Morgan will also be in the match, because WWE seems somewhat high on her without getting fully behind her, a set of circumstances that scream ‘Money in the Bank ladder match’.

All of these women will go through hell for naught however, as Sasha Banks will rise highest and claim the briefcase. It makes all the sense in the world; the mistrust between Sasha and SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley continues to grow, exacerbated by the presence of the briefcase and the inevitable cash-in.
