'Kane For Governor' was almost a thing. Kanes intelligence and speaking skills have become well-known over the last seven years or so. In fact, at one point, there were (quite convincing) rumors that Kane was considering running for public office once his wrestling career came to an end. It was believed that he was meant to challenge Senator Lamar Alexander for his seat, representing Tennessee. That was back in 2013, and obviously Kane has not really followed through with this endeavor. He stated that he would only run if he actually stood a chance of winning. Of course, if he actually did run for public office, he certainly wouldnt be the first professional wrestler to do so. Jesse The Body Ventura famously became 38th Governor of Minnesota from 1999-2003; Antonio Inoki, Atsushi Onita and Hiroshi Hase won seats in the Japanese Diet (national level), and The Great Sasuke became the first masked legislator in the history of the Iwate Prefectural Assembly (state-level). In order for him to do that, he would need a significant number of financial backers, and would basically have to commit to politics full-time, leaving his wrestling career behind. Though his character has been taken in some questionable directions in the last three years, it cannot be denied that Kane has reached legendary status in the WWE, and is bound to enter the Hall of Fame at some point in the future.
