10 Misconceptions WWE Has About Their Fanbase
4. Logic And Continuity Are Not Important To Storylines
One of the biggest gripes of many adult wrestling fans today is the lack of continuity that WWE too often exhibits.
The most recent blunder in continuity came during WWE Payback's House Of Horrors match, which began in an old abandoned house supposedly within driving distance of San Jose's SAP Arena. Despite it still being daylight in San Jose when the match concluded in the arena ring, the initial fight inside the "House of Horrors" showed that it was completely dark outside. Doh!
In addition to continuity, logic is also missing from WWE programming.
Remember when Vince McMahon went to great lengths to prevent Shane from controlling RAW, only to voluntarily empower him the day after Shane lost to The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32? Also, how can Brock Lesnar go months without defending his championship while past WWE superstars have had their titles stripped for failing to defend within 30 days? And how can a wrestler lose and lose and lose, match after match after match, and then be granted a World title opportunity seemingly out of no where?
Why is sports entertainment's logic so flawed?
Quite simply, it's because WWE does not think that storyline logic or continuity is that important to its fanbase.
