10 Missed Opportunities In Steve Austin's WWE Career

Does Stone Cold, deep down inside, perhaps regret rejecting a programme with Hogan in 2002?

There are scores of WWE superstars who would give their right hand to have a career half as good as Stone Cold Steve Austin's. Although his in-ring headline run may have only really lasted for three years (comparatively short when up against the likes of Cena and Hogan's runs), Austin is a star that has endured. For years after he retired, the sound of glass shattering would send the WWE universe into a frenzy. It didn't matter if he was there to promote a movie, referee a match or just dish out a Stone Cold stunner or two, the fans love Austin and remember his beer-drinking, hell-raising Attitude Era prime. Despite all the records set (Austin was a merchandise and PPV phenomenon) and buildings that he sold out, Austin's was not a perfect career. Beset with injury and plagued by personal problems, Austin in real-life could often act as erratically as his on-screen avatar. His temperament has led to him walking out of the company, big money matches being cancelled and other missed opportunities. Given his status as a multiple time WrestleMania main eventer, action film star and now popular podcast host (amongst other things), it might seem odd to think that Austin might have missed some opportunities. But he has. Here are ten from the Texas Rattlesnake's WWE career.
