10 Mistakes WWE Better Not Make Before WrestleMania 35
6. Paul Heyman Promo Overkill
As someone who has ripped off far too much of the man's material over the years, this writer is in no position to second guess Paul Heyman. Good news: he's not. Brace yourselves though, because he is 100% questioning the validity of creative having Heyman cut the exact same promo for four or five episodes of Raw before 'Mania.
"Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Paul Heyman", and I've been booked here tonight to wax lyrical like a portly poet about why my client, "Brrrrrrooooock Lesnar" will decimate Seth Rollins in New Jersey.
That's really all he can say. Though Paul E would undoubtedly deliver it with the same panache wrestling fans have come to expect from his pristine promos, it would hardly be thrilling television. And yet, we've witnessed it annually since Lesnar's return in 2012. Heyman shows up, does some shilling, leaves.
Occasionally, there's some violence involving Brock that keeps things interesting, and it's that kind of stuff we yearn to see more of. Why have Heyman eating up 15 minutes of TV time on Raw repeating the same lines when one Lesnar brawl achieves more?
