8. The 'Show Of Shows' Cannot Match NXT TakeOver: New York
Despite missing out on Johnny Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa for the NXT Championship, the NXT roster will steal the weekend once again.
NXT has been on a roll with their NXT TakeOver specials. Over WrestleMania 34 weekend, not only was NXT TakeOver: New Orleans the highlight of the weekend, but also the highlight of the entire WWE year.
NXT TakeOver: New York is a stacked card with no filler matches. Every fight is driven, has been built well, and enjoys genuine significance. The only contest to have been put together at short notice is the NXT Championship match. By no means, however, will this lead to anything but a spectacular battle. Both Johnny Gargano and Adam Cole are great professional wrestlers and there is no doubt Cole is a good enough heel to help finish Gargano’s story arc to the top of NXT.
