10 Mistakes WWE Will Probably Make With The Brand Split
3. Too Many Titles, Not Enough Prestige
The WWE World Heavyweight Title may be the most important championship in the company, but it's not the only one. The company has a whole host of belts, and each one will have to be treated properly in the wake of the split.
The Intercontinental and United States Championships will each be sent to a separate show, as they should be. The problem is that if the company does introduce another world championship, that'll undermine the secondary belts. This is an opportunity to make the secondary titles very, very important - when the WWE World Heavyweight Champion isn't on a show, the secondary champion is the default main man on the brand. That doesn't only go for TV - it also means U.S. or Intercontinental Title matches can headline house shows.
As far as the Women's and Tag Team Titles go, in a perfect world, those champions would also float back and forth between brands. That's not what happened last time, though - each brand had its own pair of Tag Team Titles, while Raw had the Women's Division and Smackdown had the Cruiserweight Division. After the Cruiserweight Title was dissolved, Smackdown got the Divas' Championship.
There's no need for so many belts, even with two brands. The fewer they have, the more important they'll be.
