5. Daniel Bryan Reveals That AJ Styles Is A Flat-Earther

Where to find it: Talking Smack, February 21st 2017

A delightful bit of interplay between then-heel AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan came when 'The Phenomenal One' dared to question the then-SmackDown General Manager's intelligence midway through an episode of the wonderful Talking Smack.

Bryan was a hoot as host for his lived-in portrayal as seemingly the only person on the roster not named McMahon that wasn't scared of losing his job. He used the power as a force for good, routinely popping Renee Young and throwing out jokes that seemed to anger whomever it was screaming down his earpiece to get back to the "task" at hand.

Here, having taken some in-character grief from the heel Styles, a cog turns as he notes "I have a very slow brain according to AJ", before it all clicks into place with "Hey AJ...do you wanna talk about how the earth is flat?"

Styles' retort about Bryan having flat feet doesn't get him out of bother, with even Young going bone dry to note the axis on which our planet moves. For a company with such sensitivities about how talent discuss real world issues (not least contemporary post-truth conversation such as this), it's a shock to the system to find one that also humiliates a top star in the process.
