10 MORE TERRIBLE Decisions We Have Made As The Authority Of WWE

What is the worst emotion?

Jealousy isn't great, particularly when the guy with more Twitter followers than you couldn't locate an insight if it was a pizza topping. But it's a driving force for self-improvement. Jealous can be channelled. Fear cripples, but it also creates a lurid, giddy thrill. Sadness isn't ideal, and it's unshakeable and often hopelessly inexplicable, but it is necessary for perspective. Anger can be cathartic. Anger, when controlled, is a force for change.

Dread is the worst emotion.

Dread rests in the pit of your stomach, tethering everything else, creating a myopic focus on something awful that only intensifies because you know something bad is going to happen - you just don't know when, and you cannot anticipate anything else until it does. Dread is Sunday nights when you made a spectacular d*ck of yourself at the office Christmas party on Friday. Dread is the long walk home after a morning argument with your significant other. Dread is the worst emotion because you are unable to escape its tendrils.

You watch pro wrestling as escapism from precisely this eternal ache, and yet, we have created a sprawling dread all over Monday night RAW by booking Brock Lesnar to win the Money In The Bank briefcase, in the process depicting Ali as a rictus goof. Brock threatens to make an already stakes-free TV show totally event-free, and he does it with a cackle by effectively grinding up against that person you fancy.

Did we not read WWE's manifesto? We're meant to put smiles on peoples' faces! We're not meant to inspire utter nihilism!
