10 More Wrestling Gimmicks Blatantly Stolen From Hollywood

4. The Miz - Johnny Cage

Though The Miz has made a lengthy career out of being a cocky, arrogant toolbag, he took this to the next level when he adopted the full-on sunglasses-wearing movie-star persona in mid-2014, which many fans immediately saw as an homage to the legendary Mortal Kombat character Johnny Cage.

Sure, Cage originally appeared in the iconic video game - where the character himself was a parody of Jean-Claude Van Damme - but it's hard to look at The Miz today and not see the live-action iterations of the character (played by Linden Ashby and Chris Conrad in the 1995 and 1997 Hollywood movies).

The Miz himself probably wouldn't ever dare admit the influence, but in terms of the look and the personality, it's a blindingly obvious comparison. Hell, they've both even got the beautiful blonde love interest to boot: talk about living the gimmick, Mike.
