10 MORE Wrestling Matches That Became Inadvertently Infamous

6. Bret Hart Vs Tom Magee (WWE Television Taping, 7 October 1986)

A match that remains a best-kept-secret by the company despite the release of just about every other unimaginable effort onto the WWE Network, Bret Hart's allegedly legendary carry-job of muscled rookie Tom Magee has grown in mythology by virtue of its unseen excellence.

Considering him the successor to Hulk Hogan (despite Hulkamania still 'running wild' by just about every conceivable metric in 1986), Vince McMahon was utterly enamoured with Magee thanks to his looks, physique and in-ring abilities theoretically good enough thanks to brief tenures with Stampede Wrestling and All Japan Pro Wrestling.

Allegedly, 'The Hitman' gave the ripped greenhorn the match of a lifetime in front of his new boss. Reporting back on the clash in his lengthy memoir years later, he commented that Vince gleefully announced Magee as his 'Next Champion' as the pair got backstage. Not for the first time in Bret's carer, his match with the unvarnished and inexperienced talent would prove an anomaly.

Repeated follow-on contests exposed Magee as an abysmal wrestler, lacking a basic grasp on psychology and a failure to emote both in the ring or on the microphone. To fool Vince McMahon so profoundly, Hart deserves credit - and the match deserves to one day be seen.
