10 Most Absurd Forgotten Matches In WWE History

A collector's item in one respect, this match stands more as a monument to a completely forgotten period in SmackDown history than it does a contest on its own terms.

The collection of babyfaces seems bizarre enough, though listed off one at a time could well scan as a group of good guys working a post-WrestleMania Monday Night Raw against their respective opponents from the night before. But this isn't that at all, and further inspection of the heels across from them only makes it even odder.

Seth Rollins and school trousers Kane linking up with Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan made for one of the clunkiest quintets ever, and didn't exactly advertise the best of a post-Shield world for Rollins or Reigns in the long and difficult summer of 2014. Elsewhere in the miasma, Cena was fresh off being brutalised by Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, The Wyatts were fresh off being mostly brutalised by Cena, and Mark Henry, The Big Show and Chris Jericho collectively or individually hadn't felt fresh in years.

It's little wonder this didn't linger long in the memory - Triple H forgot to even book it before a show-opening promo gave the September 3rd SmackDown its impromptu main event.
