10 Most Awkward "Didn't Get All Of It" Wrestling Moments

8. Alberto Del Rio Perfects The Flying Nothing

Alberto Del Rio was a six - at best - at everything.

In what is a major indictment of WWE's star-making machine and title devaluation, one could erase his legacy, and WWE would look no different without the contributions of a former 2x WWE Champion, 2x World Heavyweight Champion, Royal Rumble winner, Money In The Bank winner, and 2x United States Champion. The man practically won the lot without ever doing anything meaningful. Nothing he did will last forever. He never worked a true classic, cut an unforgettable promo, or was involved in an engaging storyline. The dissonance between his Wikipedia accomplishments and what they're actually worth is staggering.

Del Rio, for the extent of his push and all of his adornments, was ultimately a nothing wrestler.

It's apropos, then, that he was fond of the flying nothing. He was notorious for leaping gung-ho into reversals and ordering his opponents to place their hands on the ropes before executing a dismally fake double foot stomp.

He wasn't abysmal - just careless in his craft - and his most famous outright botch was an aberration. It was also amongst his most memorable moments: at Hell In A Cell 2012, Orton didn't counter the flying nothing, and Del Rio, lost, just landed on his feet. Both men threw weak punches in a desperate, awkward scramble, and when Orton very clearly led Del Rio into a scoop slam, the message wasn't received.

A very pissed-off dropkick brought a merciful end to an awful, perversely amusing sequence.
