10 Most Bizarre WWF Hasbro Figures

8. Yokozuna #2

The Yokozuna figure is pretty unique to begin with, what with the Sumo star being so humongously hefty. As far as pure plastic quantity, it's probably the best value figure across the whole range.

Hasbro's WWF figures aren't exactly renowned for their accuracy, and the original Yokozuna figure was just one of an André the Giant sized handful which grasped for authenticity. For no apparent reason, Yoko's tights were black whilst the mawashi was red: a complete reversal to his usual attire. Talk about scandal.

Now, there is at least one match in which the supposed Sumo champ wore black tights, albeit with a black mawashi, so I'll let the designers off the hook for their first attempt. For the second, however, I cannot be so lenient.

In typical green card fashion, Yokozuna #2 is nothing more than a quick repaint of his first figure. But quite aside from correcting the inaccurate colours of the prior toy, the second places the Japanese giant in another outfit he never once donned! Honestly, I'm losing my cool here with righteous indignation.

Oh, and again, the card image wasn't altered to reflect the change in attire. BECAUSE NO SUCH IMAGE OF HIM WEARING THAT ATTIRE EVER EXISTED! (At least I've learned to funnel my emotions into the important aspects of life.)

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
