10 Most Boring WWE Wrestlers Of 2019

7. Braun Strowman

Speaking of "not booked properly".

What is it with WWE and turning wrecking ball monsters into BFG-like comedy acts? They're bloody obsessed with this trope, and it's an unhealthy one more likely to hold someone back than endear them to the audience. Braun Strowman is a case in point here. He's quickly being typecast as muscleman goof, and it's not cool.

In 2019, Braun lost his Universal Title shot at Royal Rumble due to injury (a blessing in disguise, in retrospect), feuded with the Saturday Night Live crew at WrestleMania, had a so-so rivalry with Bobby Lashley, won the Raw Tag Titles with Seth Rollins mid-feud and tangled with Tyson Fury. None of it was especially dynamic fare.

It's not that Strowman needs to be champion, he doesn't. It's more that WWE refuse to book him like they did between 2016-2017 when he was a credibly destructive ball of rage. The past 12 months have done nothing for Braun's hopes of avoiding the gentle giant role.
