Ever since his racist video nasty surfaced three years ago, Hulk Hogan has confirmed Elton John's axiom that "sorry" really is the hardest word. Notwithstanding The Hulkster's historical lack of sincerity, his repeated apologies were continually couched with the mitigation that he didn't know he was being filmed. Any sense of contrition was hard to come by.

Apparently that didn't matter to WWE. Riyadh called, and they wanted Hogan (although they probably expected a much younger model). After three years in the cold, the company miraculously found a solution overnight, and the disgraced superstar was reinstated to their ranks. And just in time for Crown Jewel. What a coincidence!

The WWE locker-room, knowing full well which side their bread is buttered, did their best not to make a fuss of the scenario - but were reportedly not happy. WWE had foregone - or forged - any sort of reproach to offer Hogan forgiveness on the flimsiest of pretences. Should he have been allowed back? Someday, perhaps. But not like this.
