Eddie Guerrero was more than a hero to wrestling fans. By the time February 2004 arrived, he was a cultural hero for the Latino audience.

He was for that portion of the fan base what no other Superstar had been since Pedro Morales. That he openly lied, cheated and stole his way to victories only earned him the love and support of fans, regardless of race or cultural background.

Guerrero, a future Hall of Famer, was undeniably the most popular star in all of WWE. Rather than sticking to his guns and pushing guys like Big Show and Kurt Angle in familiar roles, Vince McMahon tapped Guerrero as the guy to unseat Brock Lesnar as WWE champion.

"Latino Heat" rolled into San Francisco's Cow Palace for the No Way Out pay-per-view and wrestled the match of a lifetime, bumping all over the squared circle for Lesnar and coming back with great fire and energy. Even interference from Goldberg could not spoil the moment.

Guerrero launched himself off the top rope with a Frog Splash later, pinning the seemingly insurmountable beast and capturing the greatest prize the industry had to offer.

With his family watching from the front row, the fan-favourite and beloved hero of the Ruthless Aggression era celebrated the biggest and most important victory of his career.
