You can’t have a list of death-defying matches without bringing Mick Foley’s name up once or twice, and this is one of his most famous car crashes. Widely regarded as one of the finest Hell In A Cell matches of all-time, No Way Out 2000 wasn’t quite as brutal as Foley’s 1998 showdown with The Undertaker, but it featured several huge callbacks to that match.

Wrestling as Cactus Jack, Foley had a point to prove to Triple H. He’d already lost to The Game in a savage Street Fight at the Royal Rumble, and was so desperate to overcome Hunter that he put his career on the line. This was a violent, bloody fight that escalated when Cactus threw the steel steps through the cage well, and the action spilled outside.

They trashed the announce table, and inevitably scaled the cage. Once there, Cactus produced his trademark barbed wire two-by-four, set it ablaze, and attacked The Game. Triple H ultimately got the upperhand, and just like in the Undertaker match, Foley was knocked through the cell’s roof and into the ring below.

It was a great visual, and proof, if ever it were needed, that Foley has no regard for his own life. It loses a smidge of impact by being the second time we’d seen the spot, but it was still incredibly dangerous, and enough for Cactus Jack vs. Triple H to earn its place.
