WWE has absolved JBL in the wake of the Mauro Ranallo furore. The terms of Ranallo's (effective) release state that the reasons behind his premature exit cannot be made public - but there isn't so much smoke where there is fire as there is an inferno of systemic awfulness raging within the company, concealed and abetted by decades of cover ups.

JBL allegedly waged psychological warfare on everybody he perceived as a nobody. He labelled Rene Dupree as a "French f*ggot" every time Dupree attempted to shake his hand, and this being wrestling, everybody has to shake hands once per day at a minimum. JBL battered and bloodied the Blue Meanie for speaking out on the euphemistic "hazing" to which JBL subjected many new faces. One face was Edge; JBL apparently "soaped his ass" in the shower to intimate molestation.

It was thought that JBL's reign of terror fell by the wayside in parallel with his ass, when the smaller, non-athlete Joey Styles knocked him on it. But the unseemly Mauro Ranallo business - JBL by many anonymous accounts triggered his mental health issues - seems to indicate that JBL never did change his attitude.

JBL has for years treated the WWE locker room as a schoolyard. The evidence is circumstantial - but so much of it exists, it's overwhelming.
